KIDS started work on an outdoor shelter in Huntly last weekend that has been months in the making.
Working with artist Susie Dalton and receiving local advice on hands-on tasks, after school club Huntly TOADS showed off their practical skills at the event.
Hosted by arts organisation Deveron Projects in the Brander Garden, the event on February 24 also marked the end of winter with a fun day of family activities.
The Winter Warmer also coincided with a year of the Caretakers' Garden project.
Some of the activities included fireside Doric tales with Aaron Gale from Doric Books, tool sharpening with local business Simply Sharp, and scarecrow making with gardener-in-residence Lindy Young.
A Deveron Projects spokesperson said: "It was wonderful to see the Brander Garden full of people enjoying the February sunshine, and getting stuck into lots of different practical activities.
"The TOADS have done a fantastic job designing and creating the accessible garden shelter, and we can't wait to have them back in the coming months, to put the daub on the wattle and decorate the walls with their beautiful ceramic tiles."
The Brander Garden is open throughout the year and all are welcome to get involved.
