CAITHNESS U15 10 - 67 MACKIE ACADEMY

CAITHNESS U15s’ latest home game was against a very good Mackie Academy U15 side whose main strength was their excellent half-backs and midfield.

They were quickly three scores up before Caithness had settled.

The home side stuck to their task and had a couple of long-range attacks from the backs which Mackie snuffed out. Caithness’s best forward Leigh Ryder was to the fore on short-range penalties which was possibly over done as no quick back-up arrived to secure secondary possession.

The first half finished with a further three tries to the visitors.

After a half-time talk from the Caithness coach and few changes to personnel, the home side made a better fist of the second half with tries to Josh Bradley and Shane Campbell.

As Caithness tired and injuries were suffered by two home players, Mackie scored freely in the last quarter.
