Ross bridge repair diversion
MOTORISTS are being warned of a bridge repair on the Black Isle which will result in diversions.
Rosemarkie Bridge, on the A832 Fortrose to Cromarty road, is currently being repaired, having suffered damage as a result of the severe frost experienced during the last winters.
The bridge crosses the Rosemarkie Burn adjacent to what is locally known as Fairy Glen, on the Cromarty side of Rosemarkie.
From Thursday (Nov 17), until further notice but expected to be just before Christmas, traffic will be diverted from the existing masonry bridge on to a temporary diversion immediately downstream of the existing bridge.
The diversionary route is narrow with tight bends, and it will be single way working with traffic lights. Accordingly, large vehicles are being encouraged to use an alternative route, such as via Culbokie and Cullicudden.
Contractor Morgan Sindall is carrying out the £300,000 works.
