Amy played professionally for the Dons’ team, as well as enjoying a scholarship in USA and playing at the top level of the women’s game in Iceland.

“Amy is an outstanding addition to our team,” said Huntly women’s manager Raymond Henderson on the club’s website.

“Her CV speaks for itself - she’s played at the highest levels, both at home and abroad, and has a wealth of experience that will be invaluable to our younger players.

“Beyond her talent on the pitch, Amy is a natural leader and a role model.”

Amy’s career began at Aberdeen Ladies at the age of 12 before she spent more than five years in America on a scholarship, including four years at university level before playing semi-professionally in Kansas.

Back in Europe, she signed for Icelandic Premier League club Fylkir, before returning to Scotland to sign for Aberdeen’s women’s team, who were at that that time playing in the second tier of the Scottish league.

Amy helped Aberdeen win the SWPL2 to gain promotion back to the top tier.

She then signed for Montrose and helped them win the SWF Championship title and back-to-back promotions, again to the top league.

She captained that team to glory and was named in the SWPL 2 team of the season in 2022-23.

More recently, Amy began working for TitleIX USA, which provided a pathway for young sporting talent towards American opportunities and helped Huntly player Chloe Sutherland, who is preparing to follow in Amy’s footsteps in America.

The Huntly boss then discovered how Amy was keen to return to the pitch. “As soon as I heard she might be ready to return, I knew we had to make it happen.

“We’re over the moon to have her at Huntly FC, and I can’t wait to see the impact she’ll have this season.”
