WATCH: Elgin City's Community Football Buckie-based project honoured at Scottish FA Grassroots Awards night
The Scottish FA have recognised Elgin City's Community Football operation in their annual awards.
The governing body held their Grassroot Awards night at the Hampden national stadium in Glasgow, which included a brand new prize.
One of the national categories for best fun football centre, activity or coach was contested for the first time, and Elgin City's community programme came out on top.
Their FunFootballUK session which they host in Buckie was chosen as the best project in the category.
Watch video about the project posted on Scottish FA X account.
Operations manager Craigh Stewart said it was an honour and privilege to be nominated for the award, never mind to win it.
"This isn’t down to the work of just one person, but the collective efforts of staff, volunteers, delivery partners and participants since we established the centre," he said.
"We’ve created a safe, fun and friendly environment for kids to come along and play.
"By removing barriers to participation such as financial and accessibility through funding from McDonalds fun football and working with Active Schools and Sport in Moray, we’re making things that bit easier for families to give their kids the best chance to play.
"It was an incredible night and very humbling to see all the other projects and clubs at the awards."
