New Inverurie Locos manager Andy Low has made striker Jonny Smith his second signing.

Smith (34) has departed Formartine United and rejoined The Railwaymen.

His previous spell at the Inverurie club was hampered by a significant injury.

Hailing from Wigan he has also played for Wigan Athletic, Aberdeen, Halifax Town, Peterhead, Keith and Cove Rangers.

Smith came on as a second half substitute in Saturday's 4-0 home defeat against Fraserburgh.

The past week has also seen forward Sam Robertson join the club.

Low said: “Bringing Jonny back to club was always something I was looking to do if the opportunity arose.

"I am delighted to be able to agree a deal that sees him join us immediately which I thought was really important.

"I felt the squad needed more of a goal threat, and with the addition of Sam and now Jonny, I feel we have done just that.

"On top of that, Jonny brings real quality in his all-round play, experience, presence and a confidence to the changing room that I felt was lacking at times.

"He has won the majority, if not all, of the medals that there is to win in the Highland League, but more importantly, he has the drive to push for more.

"There was a bit of unfinished business the last time around when he left, and I see the motivation he has to make this a real success.

"I look forward to seeing him back scoring goals and shining at Harlaw Park.”
