Turriff locals were outraged after reports of vandalism to the play equipment, which was installed by community group Friends of the Den after years of work.

The playdeck, which cost £37,000 to install, suffered damage after a previous vandalism incident this time last year.

On a Facebook post, Friends of the Den said: "Our friends at My Turriff have warned us that they have had a message informing them that the mega deck has been vandalised.

"There are drawings of genitalia and a nazi sign.

"This is a heads up for parents who’s children may use it."

Community news page My Turriff posted that: "Unfortunately My Turriff have been informed today that over the weekend the large mega tower at the den has been vandalised with graffiti again.

"A warning to all parents and carers that plan on taking the kids down today the graffiti is very grotesque, detailed and in some cases antisemitic."
