Update: A96 reopens to traffic at Kintore

The A96 has reopened at Kintore, with traffic now moving under onsite traffic control as of 2pm.

The road was closed for nearly 12 hours following a single vehicle collisionin the early hours of Tuesday morning to allow for investigation.

In an update this evening if was confirmed that a 34-year-old woman is in a critical condition after the incident.

The 34-year-old was a passenger when the vehicle, while driver, a 61-year-old man, was not at the scene when police arrived at the crash but was later traced.

Both were transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
