Single vehicle accident closes the A96 at Kintore

Police have closed the A96 north and south at Kintore to all traffic after a single vehicle accident in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

As of 7.45am traffic is being diverted northbound at the Broomhill roundabout and southbound at the 1st slip entry leading to long delays as traffic builds up and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Emergency services have confirmed that one person was taken to hospital with one ambulance and two special operations response teams (SORT) dispatched to the scene and Scottish Fire and Resuce units from Inveurie and Kintore dispatched to assist at 12.30am.

The road remains closed as of 11.30am.

UPDATE: 2pm - The road has now reopened under traffic management.
