Tetris trailer offers first look at Hollywood blockbuster filmed in Aberdeen

Peterhead director Jon S Baird's film Tetris, which tells the story of the legal fight for intellectual property rights to the iconic puzzle game will drop its first trailer online today at 3.30pm.

The new movie premieres at the SXSW Film Festival next month and the director took to his Twitter account to announce the trailer

Filming took place at several locations in Scotland in February 2021, with the University of Aberdeen's highly distinctive Zoology building standing in for the headquarters of Elorg, the Soviet firm responsible for the game's licensing.

Cast members include Taron Egerton, Nikita Efremov, Roger Allam, Anthony Boyle and Togo Igawa.

The main subject matter of the film will be the legal battle involving Robert Maxwell's software company Mirrosoft's rights to distribute Tetris in the West, rights which at the time were held by the Soviet Government.

The Trailer is now live - how many locations in Aberdeen can you spot?
