Following damage to the building which saw medical services transferred to a location in the local pharmacy in Alford, work is nearing completion and services are set to resume from the premises on Tuesday, December 19.

A spokesperson for Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership said: "We are very happy to be able to update you and let you know that contractors have restored heat to the practice building and repaired the pipe which has allowed the water to be restored.

"This is very welcome news and means that from Tuesday, December 19 the practice will be able to offer care and services from the practice building.

"There is still remedial work to do, and the current arrangements will remain in place on Monday 18, and we would remind people that they must call the practice to book an appointment as the service offered from the pharmacy building is by appointment only.

"We anticipate that the practice will be able to offer a more ‘normal’ level of service from Tuesday, although there will still be some disruption as remedial work continues at the practice.

"We would like to thank all of our teams who have been working exceptionally hard to support the practice – special mention and thanks to our Health Visiting team who have given up office space and to our Community Nursing teams who have gone above and beyond to support and care for patients in their own homes.

"This has been a difficult time for the practice, and we thank them for all the work they have done and continue to do to ensure that the Alford community has the access they need to healthcare.

"We appreciate the support you have all shown us and thank you for your patience at this time and over the coming weeks as we work to resolve all the issues. "
