A fundraising raffle organised by local Girlguiding groups last month to raise money for renovations to their much-loved Fyvie Guide House raised a staggering £16,500.

Families of members across the north-east supported the fundraiser by selling raffle tickets to friends and family, with the money raised totalling £16,567.

The top prizes were an iPad, a Nintendo Switch and £100 cash as well as various other 'smaller' prizes on offer.

Renovation work to ensure the property can provide the best possible opportunities for 21st century visitors continues.

To date work has been carried out to upgrade various spaces, including craft rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms, with the current focus being extending the kitchen to nurture young visitors interests.

Fyvie Guide House was recently awarded £1400 from the Co-op Local Community Fund.
