Popular Macduff calendar set to be launched
After sorting through and judging the hundreds of photographs submitted by more than 30 photographers, the 2024 Macduff Calendar is complete and ready to go on sale.
Comprising some new sights and views in and around Macduff as well as some old favourites, the ever-popular calendar is expected to sell out quickly.
The back cover of the calendar features the winning entries from the children's art competition; all of the submissions are included within the calendar, either on the monthly pages or providing the backdrop to a fun game of seahorses and congers.
Chairman of organisers Friends of Macduff Marine Aquarium Keith Newton said: “It has been a real challenge to the judges to choose from the wealth of excellent photos we received, many with new subject matters from previous years.
"A great compliment to all the photographers and it is great to see more folk submitting pictures.
“We are also very grateful to our sponsors who have supported the production of the calendar, making this a real community effort.”
The sponsors of the 2024 calendar are Walter Gerrard & Co; Macduff Dental Surgery; Macduff Shipyards; Inshore Fish Supply; The Platform; The Garret; Steven Clark Motorbody Repairs; Macduff Distillery; Deveron FM; The Spotty Bag Shop; The Knowes Hotel; Greenlaw Roofing and Building; and Jenny and Billy Ewan.
More than 250 copies of the calendar have already been taken up with orders from as far afield as Canada and Germany.
Copies will go on sale and pre-orders can be collected at the Macduff Market on Saturday, October 28 at the former Fife Street School from 10am to 1pm.
The 2024 Macduff Calendar, which costs £5, will be on sale thereafter at Macduff Marine Aquarium or can be obtained by contacting the Friends by email FOMMAquarium@gmail.com, via Facebook or by calling (01261) 832849. Copies can be posted if people are unable to collect them in person.
All proceeds support Friends of Macduff Marine Aquarium and Friends of Tarlair projects.
