Departing and new members of the Haddo Snow Ball organising committee's commitment to the event have ensured that the Haddo Snow Ball just keeps rolling along year after year.

Started just after World War II by Lord and Lady Aberdeen, the Snow Ball is a fundraiser for the Haddo House Coral and Operatic Society.

Funds raised go towards funding visiting artists and events put on by the Choral Society.

The Snow Ball is held every January in the magnificent Canadian Hall at Haddo, music is provided by Frank Thomson and his band, and caters for all dancing styles, with a caller is on hand to talk everyone through the set dances.

Committee member Iain Morris said: "The Snow Ball Committee recently met at the refurbished Udny Arms Hotel in Newburgh to celebrate the long service of a few of its members.

"Standing aside are David Presly who can recall his parents being involved and he is unable to recall when he joined the team, along with his daughter Kim Davidson who cannot recall when she started attending the event but has helped for many years.

"Family commitments have required Anne and Forbes Hamilton to step down as well.

"The Committee presented the departing members with photographs taken at the Ball but hope they will still attend when they can.

"Jenny Greener, Isla Maitland and Ian and Jackie Morris have joined to ensure the event continues. "
