Rothes let three goal lead slip

ROTHES blew the chance for a valuable three points when they let a 4-1 lead slip at Fort William.

The Speysiders looked to be coasting to a rare three points at their fellow strugglers.

However, a storming second half saw Fort fight back to earn a 4-4 draw at Claggan Park.

Graeme Roy's side went ahead when a trialist grabbed the opener and Rodrigues added a second.

Fort pulled one back to make it 1-2 at the break.

Two goals in a minute after the interval from Forbes and McIntosh put Rothes in the driving seat.

However, McKay, Martin and Campbell all got on the scoresheet as Fort rescued a point.

Lossiemouth were three nil down at home to Huntly before mounting a fight back of their own, however, it was not enough to earn a point.

David Booth and Andy Kleczkowski had Huntly 2-0 up inside half an hour at Grant Park.

And when the visitors went further ahead just before the hour mark with a goal from Pawel Nowacki, there looked to be no way back for Lossie.

However, they pulled one back through Liam Archibald and Jordan McBain struck again in the dying minutes to give Lossie fans hope of a late leveller.

In the only other game to beat the weather Brora Rangers maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a narrow 4-3 win over fellow title contenders Nairn County.

The Sutherland side led 4-1 before Nairn mounted a late charge to get back in the game.
