The Inverness to Beauly road has reopened following a serious road accident.

The collision between a black Mini and a motorbike happened shortly before 2.30 this afternoon on the A862, near its junction with the road to Kiltarlity.

Police closed the road for a time, and the Helimed 2 air ambulance, based at Dalcross, was called in.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said the motorcyclist had been flown to Raigmore Hospital with pelvic injuries.
