BRORA Rangers and Caley Thistle served up an eight-goal thriller in Tuesday night’s AJG Parcels North of Scotland Cup tie at Dudgeon Park.

Halkirk-born striker Shane Sutherland was the star of the show as his hat-trick helped the Inverness side to a 5-3 victory.

Andrew Shinnie and Sutherland shot ICT 2-0 up, but Liam Baxter pulled a goal back before the break.

Sutherland volleyed the SPL side 3-1 ahead before Mark Smith and another Baxter goal levelled it at 3-3.

Shinnie netted from close range to make it 4-3 and an injury-time goal from Sutherland sealed the win.

Also in the second round, Nairn County host Strathspey Thistle on Wednesday night, while Rothes welcome Forres Mechanics.

Next Wednesday, Clach take on Halkirk United at Harmsworth Park, Wick, to decide the semi-final line-up.
