Aberdeenshire house blaze off A947 road near Macduff extinguished by firefighters





Fire crews and specialist resources battled a significant blaze which destroyed a home.

Emergency services were called out to the fire near Macduff off the A947, close to the junction with Montbletton Road, at 4.34pm on Monday.

The huge blaze caused extensive damage to the house.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.34pm on Monday, June 2 to reports of a dwelling fire off the A947.

“Operations control mobilised seven appliances and a height vehicle to the scene.

"Firefighters extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene.

“One casualty was left in the care of Scottish Ambulance Service personnel."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We dispatched one ambulance to the scene, and we transported one patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”

Road closures were put in place on the A947 due to smoke.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said officers assisted with traffic management.
