POLICE have appealed for information after a member of staff at an Easter Ross hotel was threatened with a knife.

Police said in a statement that a member of staff at the Mansfield Castle Hotel in Tain's Scotsburn Road was threatened with a knife in an indident that took place around 11.20pm on Friday night.

The staff member was not injured as a result of the incident and no property was stolen.

A 25-year-old local male was arrested following enquiries and is due to appear at Dingwall Sheriff Court later today.
