TWO Inverness women look set to figure prominently in one of the highest quality athletics events to take place in the Highlands for over 30 years at the Inverness Campus tonight.

The Campus 5k has attracted strong fields, especially among the women where the entrants include no fewer than seven full Scottish internationalists.

Two races are on the programme and the faster event, for runners faster than 19 minutes, is loaded with leading talent.

The Inverness duo are Scottish cross country champion Mhairi MacLennan, who also tops the current national 5k rankings with 16:11 and Scottish 5k silver medallist and road internationalist Jenny Bannerman who has posted a time of 16:33.
