VANDALS have targeted North Kessock Primary School’s garden displays and equipment just weeks after the kid’s achieved the prestigious eco flag.

Local residents who live in the area are now being urged to report culprits, who have struck the school for the third time in as many months, to Northern Constabulary or Crimestoppers.

Green fingered youngsters from the primary school appeared in this week’s edition of the North Star after a combined effort over four years saw the school finally raise it’s eco flag.

Head teacher Rebecca Robinson expressed her anger at the "mindless" people who have targeted the kid’s gardens.

She said: "The school attained its Eco Flag status in May and the flag has only been flying in the school grounds for the past two weeks. Part of the our Eco Flag status was attained through the hard work that the pupils and school community have put into making the school grounds look attractive. It is extremely disappointing that some mindless people see fit to destroy our pupils’ achievements."

Depute Leader of The Highland Council, Councillor David Alston for the Black Isle Ward added: "It’s very sad to see such senseless destruction. Someone somewhere must know something about who is responsible for this."

Anyone who knows any information is urged to contact their local Police or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
