After a long wait Breast Cancer Now Oldmeldrum Group were able to bring back their popular ladies lunch fundraising event to Meldrum House Country Hotel on Sunday, and raised a staggering £31,000 in the process.

The event started with a minute of silence followed by a minute of applause as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

The 220 attendees were entertained throughout the afternoon by Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus who compered the event.

Her wit, humour and fabulous singing made for a memorable afternoon.

Guests listened to a video message from Baroness Delyth Morgan, chief executive of Breast Cancer Now and a talk by Professor Valerie Speirs.

Both thanked those present for their support and highlighted the need for funds to support research and to support those who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

Through the generosity of sponsors, supporters and guests the event raised a fantastic £30,725 for Breast Cancer Now.

Scotland's leading breast cancer charity offers support to those diagnosed with breast cancer as well as funding research.
