Girlguiding Gordon are on the lookout for more volunteers to help them offer exciting opportunities to young people across the area.

Girlguiding is the UK's leading charity for girls and young women and offers a varied programme of activities for girls aged 5-18, all of which is made possible by local leadership teams.

Members are split into four sections; Rainbows (aged five to seven years), Brownies (aged seven to 10 years), Guides (aged 10-14 years) and Rangers (aged 14-18 years).

Opportunities are currently available across Gordon, which covers Inverurie to Ellon and the surrounding areas north of Aberdeen.

In particular County leaders are keen to fill roles with Rainbows and Brownies in Blackburn, Guides in Inverurie, Brownies in Kemnay and Rainbows and Brownies in Kintore.

Members and volunteers have worked hard and adapted to changing restrictions over the past 12 months offering activities virtually and, when permitted, in person.

Amongst these activities offered within Gordon was a virtual camp, Flamingo Safari, last summer which was enjoyed by more than 600 young people.

A county spokesperson said: "We have a few gaps in the county however it would be great to just get some fresh blood.

"We have been very active over the last year whether that be face to face as allowed or virtually and everyone has embraced the change.

"It’s a great time to get involved with Guiding as we transition back to main stream and I believe we will likely keep an element of virtual."
