The Keig to Premnay B992 road is to remain closed at present (Wednesday) after Sunday’s flash flooding as work continues to clear debris and carry out a detailed inspection of the damage.

An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson confirmed: “The B992 at Auchleven remains under an emergency closure following the localised flooding which washed out several embankments both above and below the road surface.

“We are currently in the process of clearing a significant amount of debris and will be carrying out a detailed inspection of the affected stretch of road for any signs of undermining which will take time.

“We would encourage all road users to adhere to the formal detour which diverts to roads that are the same class as the one that is closed.”
