LEADERS for two huge Huntly projects have been appointed.
The Huntly Development Trust (HDT) has named the two managers who will be in charge of operating No. 30 The Square and an adventure tourism facility at the Greenmyres Eco Bothy.
Announcing the appointments, an HDT spokesperson said that "both of these new managers have already rolled up their sleeves to get working straight away."
The spokesperson added: "We hope you’ll all welcome them as they work hard to bring significant extra quality of life to our town."
Nicola Baird is taking the reins of the multi-million pound No. 30 The Square project, which will include a co-working space, training rooms, an upstairs hall, a café, a retail space and a multi-use performance venue with cinema seating.
She has more than 25 years of developing businesses, including her own, and managing the front line operation of venues.
Ms Baird's career includes a stint managing Castle Fraser, as well as being the general manager of Schivas Estates and customer and commercial manager for the Aberdeenshire Museums service.
Also named as the new manager of HDT's adventure tourism plans is Mike Gifford.
The project will see the development of paddleboarding, kayaking and mountain biking facilities at the trust's Greenmyres Eco Bothy.
Mr Gifford was previously the Aberdeen adventure manager at Sport Aberdeen.
With more than 20 years of experience instructing outdoor activities and managing outdoor centres, the HDT spokesperson said, he was a "perfect fit for our high expectations of Greenmyres."
