SOME of the work that Huntly Development Trust does for the local community was explained to members at the town's probus club.
On Thursday, November 2, Huntly Probus Club received a visit from Donald Boyd, general manager of Huntly Development Trust, who gave members a talk.
Mr Boyd told how the club has successfully applied for grants over the years and they have revenue from the wind turbine at Greenmyres.
The development trust has various projects at Greenmyres, including an Eco Bothy and a pond – which is going to be used for water sports.
There is going to be a secure dog park and they are now building a toilet and shower block.
In Huntly they got funding for No.30 The Square which will up and running early next year. Also on The Square the group purchased the old Royal Bank and it is now run as Orbs Book Shop.
The next meeting of Huntly Probus Club is on Thursday, November 16, at the Huntly Golf Club at 10am when Pat Scott is giving a talk about her career in journalism with the Huntly Express.
Pat will also talk about being joint Citizen of the Year with her husband Sandy.
