A local Clan Cancer Support group has benefited from a £7500 donation.

The money was raised through a ladies day event organised by the Turriff Show committee, with all of the money raised divided between Clan Cancer Support, Home Start Deveron and Turriff And District Agricultural Association.

The money will be used to ensure that support services remain available in the community, so that people living with cancer don't always have to travel into Aberdeen, and to build on the current programme.

Through regular sessions in Turriff Library, Clan Cancer Support are able to offer access to complementary therapies, specialist nutrition and wellbeing advice and various activities aimed at supporting those living with cancer.

They also hold a social coffee morning once a month to help reduce the loneliness and feelings of isolation which can come with a cancer diagnosis.
