With Christmas fast approaching there is still plenty of fun and games to be had in the north-east this weekend before Santa arrives.

TURRIFF - Turriff United Social Club - Join the team for a Boozy Bingo on Saturday, December 16 from 3pm till late. They have Edna calling numbers and keeping all entertained and the yummy Aberdam guys in the car park. Tables available by messaging the page or pop in past the club and speak to a member of staff.

MONYMUSK - Monymusk Playgroup is hosting a Kid's Christmas bingo and movie afternoon - The Grinch (2018 version) on Saturday 16 at Monymusk Village Hall 3pm-5:30pm. Bingo starts at 3pm and Movie starts at 4pm(come for both or just for one) Pizza, popcorn and juice for the kids,hot chocolate and minced pies for the grown ups.Entry by donation, all proceeds to support Monymusk Playgroup.

ELLON - Ellon cinema at Victoria Hall, Sunday 17 WISH (U) 2pm, entry £5 with tickets from www.victoriahallellon.co.uk/cinema.

BANFF -The Spotty Bag Shop Reindeer Parade returns on Sunday 17 from 12pm-4pm. Parade starts at 2pm so come and meet Spencer, Peppa Pig, Mickey, Minnie, The Minions, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven and much much more.

HUNTLY - The Cairngorm reindeer and Santa on his sleigh will be in the Square, Huntly on Sunday 17 from around 4pm, with the market opening at 10am.

ELLON - Ellon Castle Gardens- Carols under our Ancient Yews takes place on Sunday 17. Gates will open at 3.30pm with carols starting at 4pm. This year they are delighted to be accompanied by a small ensemble of the Bon Accord Silver Band. The carol singing will be supported by Ellon Parish Church Choir. Entry price of just £5 for all adults includes a glass of the award-winning Ellon Castle Gardens Champagne Cider, or mulled cider, or tea or coffee, plus a mince pie. Additional drinks will be available for £4 per glass. They will also be collecting non-perishable food items for the Community Larder. AND NEXT WEEK -

ABERCHIRDER - Wednesday 20, Aberchirder Square 6pm - 7pm. Show your Christmas spirit and join the community in an evening of carols and festive celebrations. There will be festive treats and hot drinks served in the square to sing some of your favourite Christmas songs. Santa and the Fire Crew will be along, spreading Christmas cheer for everyone.
