Children got a big surprise last week when they made two new friends.

The pupils had been at the church for their end of term service, where the nursery class performed their nativity.

As they were leaving they were delighted to be greeted by miniature donkeys Clara and Erin, who were accompanied by owners Lucy and Sally Mair.

The donkeys then escorted the pupils back to school, and everybody had a chance to meet the donkeys before returning to class.

Staff at the school said the children had "a super time" and commended the donkeys on their good behaviour.

Clara and Erin also brought a touch of festive joy to Turriff Hospital and the local residential facilities recently when they accompanied Turriff and District JAC on their evening of carolling.
