Garioch's Carla Banks in the Ladies 4s lost in the semi final to Australia 18-19 while Jason and Ian McLean were thrashed in the Pairs quarter final, also to Australia 2-19 writes Mike Barron.

The Gents Triples fight for gold medal against Australia later today.

Emma McIntyre in the Singles, failed to qualify for playdowns coming 3rd in her section.

Carla Banks, Claire Anderson, Stacey McDougall and Caroline Brown, having won their section, met Canada in the quarter final, and won 17-9.

The Scots knew they would be in a battle against home nation Australia and this was the case in the semi final.

The green was faster than in UK, and the match had the large crowd watching the close contest throughout.

The final end saw Australia get over the line 19-18.

The Scots were a little unlucky!

The final England v Australia is played later today.

Details of the timing for Bronze match between Scotland v New Zealand were not available at the time of publication.

Jason Banks and Ian McLean had a perfect run in their Pairs section with 9 wins, but in quarter final they came up against Australia.

TheScots never got going, and scored but 2 shots against 19.

The Aussies were totally in command from the 4th end and drew end after end.

A match Jason and Ian will want to forget!

Paul Foster, Derek Oliver, and Alex Marshall in Scottish Bowls Triples will fight for Gold Medal v Australia starting at 6.30am, Saturday 2.

The final match was the Ladies Singles with Emma McIntyre who finished 3rd in her section and did not qualify for the playdowns.

England and Hong Kong China had 8 wins and 24 points while Scotland had played 9, won 7, lost 2 and finished with 21 points.
