Murray’s deflected 25-yarder on 78 minutes completed a Jags turnaround from a half time deficit to post a crucial 2-1 victory over the champions.

The win closed the gap between Buckie and Brechin to seven points, with Jags having two games in hand - defeat would have been unthinkable for the Victoria Park men.

In a video interview after the match, Murray spoke about his goal, which just happened to be Buckie’s 100th of the season in all competitions and the defender’s 19th of the campaign.

Murray admitted tired legs have had an effect on a Jags squad playing Wednesday-Saturday every week due to a fixtures backlog caused by Victoria Park drainage problems.

The former Ross County stopper said last night’s match was a must-win for Buckie and the three points gained have opened up the championship chase.
