Scoring a superb goal in Saturday's Moray derby was little consolation in defeat for Keith skipper James Brownie.
The Maroons midfielder curled home a first class equaliser, just moments before Forres captain Lee Fraser nodded in what proved to be the winner in the home side's 2-1 win.
Brownie said: "They don’t mean too much when you lose a game.
"We’re disappointed to lose in the end, we had a fair share of chances. They probably played a little bit better football but on reflection the chances we created were similar to theirs and a draw would probably have been fair over the piece.
"Once we got the goal for one each it was disappointing to lose the goal straight away to let them bounce back and take the momentum at that point.
"It was Gav’s (Elphinstone) free kick. As he was lining it up, it was a case of where I was in relation to the goal and when it came to me, I passed it in to the side of the net.
"It was good to get a goal and hopefully I will get more than I did last season, I need some more coming from midfield to help the attackers out."
Keith manager Craig Ewen said: "It was such a cheap goal to concede the winner. We know about the threat of Lee Fraser at corners.
"I’m not disputing that Forres deserved their three points. I think they played better football than us.
"We weren’t great on the day but if we eradicate those errors in our own box and the cheap goals to concede from our point of view, then we’ve got to be clinical when we get our chances.
" At the end of the game we’ve got a great chance, we’re through into the box one-on-one and we haven’t found the net."
Forres manager Steven MacDonald was pleased with his team's third league win in four games played so far.
"It was a good game and we are just delighted to get the win. It was so important and means its a good start to the season for us now.
"We’ve got to be happy with the three wins and games that we wanted to win, we did well at Buckie too and unfortunately couldn’t quite get there.
"We weren’t at our best, there’s little things we can do better but I think we deserved to win. I’m really pleased with the way the boys dug in after conceding the equalising goal.
"That was a really good finish, it was a quality goal and I thought we were up against it at that point as Keith had the wind and were pushing.
"But we adapted really well and big Lee (Fraser) has been outstanding for us all season, I think they are running out of man of the match awards for him. He’s dug us out and had one disallowed as well."
