Gronkowski (36) has taken part in more than 100 races in his 22-year career, with more than 70 podiums. He won the Scottish Formula Ford 1600 Champs in 2019.

But, taking into account many factors, including financial and health factors, he has decided that Jordan Gronkowski Racing Team – which his dad works with him on – will move on to sim racing.

Announcing his retirement from racing on YouTube, Jordan said: “We have achieved everything we can possibly achieve as a small family team in single seaters and we are very happy about, proud of and satisfied with that.

“Sim racing gives me the same energy, excitement and thrill and thanks to the wonders of live streaming – dad can be part of that journey.”
