The sides met in Wednesday night's Aberdeenshire Cup semi-final, with the winners moving on to a showpiece match against either Formartine United or Huntly.

Turriff, who smashed ten past Aberdeen University in the last round, took a shock lead with Aaron Reid's eighth goal of the season.

A disputed penalty for handball drew Broch level just before half time, Paul Campbell netting from the spot.

And the league champions won the tie with 20 minutes to go through a Paul Young effort.

Formartine and Huntly meet in the other semi next Wednesday at North Lodge Park.

Huntly will also be live on TV screens this month, as their first round Scottish Cup tie at Pollok has been chosen by BBC Scotland as their televised tie on Friday, September 16.
