After a first half which saw United in control they failed to kill the game off in the final 45 minutes as Clach applied the pressure.

However, Turriff managed to battle on and see the game out.

Jack said: “It was a tough game. We totally dominated the first half, even though the score was 2-1.

“Then in the second half we just couldn’t finish them off.

“There was always the danger they would come back into the game and they put a lot of pressure on us in the second half."

Nick Gray opened the scoring in the 22nd minute.

Clach equalised about 10 minutes later when Daniel Maclennan found the net.

United were then awarded a penalty just before half-time and Artjoms Kuznecovs made no mistake with his spot kick.

Turriff now move on to a home league game against Nairn County on Saturday.
