Two weeks ago Jason Banks took the Gents 4s title, beating Gary MacDonald 23-8 at the 13th end.

While MacDonald conceded, he should remember his run to the final, having beaten the strong Steve Buchanan team earlier.

Brian Reid joined Colin and Jason Banks in the Gents Triples. They again beat Rough and Collins, who were with Ronnie MacDougall, 15-11.

The scorecard tells the tale. Collins took five shots at the eighth end and was always playing catch up.

The Gents 2 Bowl Pairs contest was a one-sided contest. Rough and Collins lost 2-0 in sets against the Banks.

The Banks started well restricting their opposition to one shot in the first seven ends, yet they finished 7-5 at the ninth. Continuing their fine play, they took the set and match 9-4.

The final title, the Gents 4 bowl Pairs, was played in great spirit and the few spectators saw some of the best bowling this season.

The determination of Rough and Collins to win was seen from the start. They scored well and were just ahead at the half way stage by two shots.

Jason Banks drew well on the backhand but Collins matched his fine play. It was a great final and a justified first title for Rough and Collins.

Now the players represent the club in the playdowns for the Scottish titles next winter.
