Semi-final one saw Tarves v Inverurie where all were looking forward to Connor Milne (Tarves) v Jason Banks (Inverurie) in the Singles.

Both have multi caps at Under 25, and are regulars in the full Scottish Team.

Jason started well, but the challenge had Connor repeat fine drawing from end 3, and he surprisingly won by 12 shots to end 21-9.

Andy Duncan of Tarves had no answer to Colin Banks in the Pairs and Inverurie won 18-5.

The Triples were closer than the 13-8 score suggests as both teams were playing well.

Michael Presley (Tarves) trio were just drawing better in the second half, and beat Gary Macdonald by the 5 shots.

With the score 2 wins to one, the Fours were critical and Marshall Presley (Tarves) kept a lead throughout, and won 18-12 against Derek Bisset of Inverurie

The score Tarves 6 - Inverurie 2 was a surprise.

Harlaw v Rothienorman semi-final came next and every match counted.

The score was 2 wins each, and it needed a count to decide the match with Rothie winning by 2 shots overall.

It finished 65-63, but it could have been different.

The Singles came down to one shot. Sandy McDonald (Harlaw) had the most exciting of matches against Norman Burnett (Rothie).

First one then the other were in front.

The final end was critical with McDonald drawing to the jack, and he had won 21-20.

Jaffrey and Fraser (Harlaw) had the better of Knox and Cruickshank (Rothie) and came home with a 20-15 win.

Now came the Triples with Bruce Stewart (Harlaw) having a must win.

It was a battle.

Mark Campbell (Rothie) had Norman Masson and Ian Lonsdale in his trio and all played well. They won 16-12.

Score Harlaw 2 wins 4 points and Rothie 1 win and 2 points.

Now it depended on the Fours and Rothie had a tough fight.

The score early went one way then the other.

Rothie had Raffan, Esselmont, Moir and Harper and they did not disappoint.

Their steady performance saw them defeat Ross, Horne, Hyde and Dalglish 14-10.

The score was Harlaw 4 points and Rothie 4 points. Rothie won with 65 shots to Harlaw 63.

In the quarter-final Rothie had another 4-4 draw against Inverbervie and won by 2 shots again, while Harlaw, who were disappointed, rode their

luck against Newmachar, when the points were 4-4 and score 60-60 with Harlaw going through having the winner of the Singles 21-15.

It has been an exciting A & K Top Ten so far and now comes the final at the end of the month.
