Cuminestown’s Neah Evans returned to the velodrome on Sunday after her bronze medal success the day before to follow on in an event in which she took the bronze medal four years ago in Australia in what were her debut games.

She improved her finish this time around with 36 points in the race going up against Australian Georgia Baker who took gold with 55 points.

Evans delivered a solid performance which saw her push Baker right to the end.

Also in the velodrome Aberdeen paracyclist Neil Fachie added a silver to his tally having secured his fifth gold medal on Friday

Turriff ’s netball captain Claire Maxwell was in action as Scotland took on Wales in their crunch pool game at the NEC.

Scotland were always playing catch-up and ended losing out 48-42.
