’Side’s new year start is not a happy one

DEVERONSIDE’S first foots at Canal Park last Saturday were Fraserburgh United, who left with a well-deserved 1-0 victory over an out-of-sorts home side which produced their worst first-half display of the season so far.

The Broch were first to threaten when Bisset played the ball through to Rollo, who saw his shot fizz just wide of Tait’s post.

Well on top in the early stages, the visitors then saw Forbes hit an 18-yard shot straight at Tait.

The overworked Deveronside defence was caught square and Bisset ran clear of the defence but, again, Tait came to the rescue with another great block.

The opening goal was coming, and when it did it was a disaster for the home team.
