Keith’s midweek derby defeat at Huntly not only stretched the Maroons’ no win sequence to seven matches, but the single goal reverse saw them slide into second spot in the table.

Yet again the lack of firepower proved costly without a single direct shot being on target, although they went toe to toe with their neighbours in the 173rd league encounter between the sides.

Neither side could provide the cutting edge in a tussle that swung from end to end, until the Christie Park side made the vital breakthrough with 75 minutes played.

Substitute Callum Murray provided the pass which ex-Keith trialist Michael Dangana latched onto and clinically slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net from 12 yards.

The single goal consigned the Maroons to a sixth defeat in seven outings, with only two goals in the goals for column during the period.

Keith team: Reid, Coull, Yeats, Addison, Robertson, Abdulkarim (Hutcheon 56), Killoh, Yunus, Ironside (Wilson 46), Tough (McKeown 78), Duncan. Subs not used: Cumming, Brownie, Irvine.
