BUCKIE United will not defend their 2021 Moray Welfare League title this summer.

United are not one of the seven teams to have entered this year's league – with Elgin Golden Oldies, Tomintoul and Lossie Youths also dropping out.

The league will reduce from 10 teams to seven, with Craigellachie new entries to the division.

Aberlour Villa, FC Fochabers, Portsoy, Hopeman, Cullen and RAF Lossiemouth are the other six teams set to compete when the league starts on Friday, May 6.

A post on Facebook said there are already enquiries about teams entering in 2023 as the league looks to bolster its numbers.
