A late equaliser saw Turriff take their share of the points at the Haughs as they welcomed Banks o'Dee for their first visit in the Highland League.

Turriff took the initiative early with Aaron Reid’s connecting on a diving header which went just wide and would be a signal of a match which should have had a much higher scoreline.

Dee responded with sustained attacks on keeper David Dey's goal with a drive from Alasdair Stark being rebounded and forcing a quick reaction to stop a tap in from close range.

Continuing to pile on the pressure United's Jordan Cooper made a solid link up with Ewan Clark which left him with clear shot on goal having beaten the keeper only to see it cleared off the line by the defence.

With a surprisingly empty score sheet for the first half, both teams came out with renewed vigour for the second half with both sides quickly seeing one on one situations faced by their respective keepers, with Dee's ending up on the top netting and Turriff's sent over the crossbar.

With Dee continuing to pile on the pressure and the tackles becoming more forceful, it was inevitable that something was going to give for one of the sides.

Unfortunately for Turriff it was Liam Cheyne whose tackle on Kane Winton in the box was enough for the penalty shout to be awarded.

Substitute Jack Henderson stepped up to send Dey the wrong way to give Dee the crucial opener.

Dee continued to pile on the pressure with substitutes Hamish MacLeod and Neil Gauld linking up for Gauld to see a shot blocked and the resulting corner also playing to Gauld who was denied for a second time.

With time running out fast for Turriff, with six minutes remaining the home side capitalised on a break through the Dee defence which left Kyle Gordon in a one on one with the Dee keeper which saw him beat him to the ball and knock it forward.

United's Rory Brown reacted quickest from the supporting group to fire the ball into the net with a straight drive to the delight of the home crowd and his fellow players.

Dee continued to press their attacks and a dangerous corner was cleared to the relief of the home side fans as the final whistle brought another point to Turriff who now sit 10th in the league.
