ROTHIE Rovers have set up a Grill League Cup semi-final with Superleague opposition after a 3-1 victory against Longside on Friday night.

Goals from Ewan Clark, Gavin Smart and Jake Stewart saw Rothie come from behind to defeat Division One outfit Longside away from home.

In their maiden junior campaign, Rovers will now face either Bridge of Don Thistle or Hermes at home in the Grill League Cup semi-final on March 12.

Rothie came through a group containing Superleague side Maud to make it to the quarter-final, but Bridge of Don and Hermes sit second and fourth in the table respectively, with Maud 13th.

The draws for two other competitions were made at the weekend, with the winner of Rothie and Colony Park to take on Dufftown in the North Regional Cup quarter final.

The round of 16 tie is set to take place this Saturday in Inverurie.

In the Morrison Cup group stages, Rothie will again travel to Longside, as well Aberdeen University. They'll host Stoneywood Parkvale and Buchanhaven Hearts.

Dates for all of these fixtures will be advised in due course.

With so much cup action for Rothie at the minute, Forres Thistle have climbed to the top of Division Two, sitting one point clear having played two games extra.
