Rodger notches hat-trick at Vale awards night

YOUNG midfielder Graeme Rodger picked up three prizes at Deveronvale’s player of the year awards at the Banff Springs Hotel on Saturday.

Rodger was awarded ‘The Banffshire Journal’ supporters player of the year, the Choutie Thomson Shield for young player of the year and the James Leslie Shield for supporters’ club player of the year.

Veteran Mark Chisholm picked up two awards which were Lawrence the Jewellers’ player’s player of the year and the Jim Beaton Shield for clubman of the year.

Craig Simpson won the Noel Cullinane Youth Award, while the George MacMains Cup for supporter of the year went to Robert ‘Bingo’ Bremner. Goalkeeper James Blanchard collected an award for making 200 club appearances and the ladies’ award for ‘rear of the year’ went to Graeme Watt.
