Having won the toss captain Anthony Wilson decided to bat first and get runs on the board. This proved to be a good decision, with A Ali and D Creamer putting 18 on the scoreboard before Ali played across the line to a straight one and was clean bowled.

A Ballantyne, not known for his touch play, came to the crease and fired off a quick 28 before playing one to many shots. Creamer, still at the crease playing a measured innings, was joined by A Wood who was looking confident but fell to a sharp piece of Forres fielding for 5.

J Thompson, an extremely quick young man, helped push the score along nicely. Creamer had to retire on 36 due to cup rules but the ever-young E Walls joined Thompson and, after a little trouble with his box, complimented the power of Thompson with some deft touches before being bowled by T Farr of Forres, another old hand.

M. Webster, J Leitch and captain Wilson brought the score up to a very respectable 170.

The Forres chase never really got going with wickets falling at steady intervals. Webster grabbed four, Creamer and Wood got two apiece and that man Walls took the final Forres wicket, finishing them off for 86.

A good win for the second team keeping their 100 per cent record intact

Next Sunday sees Northern Counties of Inverness visit the Linzee Gordon Park, should be a good one.

Buckie 170 – D Creamer 36 rtd, J Thompson 34, A Ballantyne 28. Forres 86 – M Webster 4-12, E Creamer 2-5.
