Lossiemouth produced the result of the Highland League weekend with a superb 2-1 victory over title chasers Buckie Thistle.

Two goals in two minutes by on-loan Elgin City striker Dylan Lawrence and Ryan Farquhar turned around the Coasters' half time deficit.

Buckie have been defeating all of their fellow challengers, yet have slumped to surprise losses to Nairn County, Clachnacuddin and now Lossie in the last six weeks.

Jags defeated Lossie 3-0 when the teams met at Victoria Park 11 days earlier, and were expected to be too strong for a home side bossed by ex-Buckie first team coach Frank McGettrick.

A fine strike by Max Barry gave the visitors the lead on 16 minutes, seemingly setting jags up for another success.

However, Lossie had other ideas with Lawrence levelling ten minutes after half time, and within a minute Ryan Farquhar scored what proved to be the winner.

Buckie are still firmly in the title race, even though the defeat saw them slip to fifth place.

They trail leaders Brechin City by ten points with three games in hand, and play host to Banks O' Dee on Wednesday night.
