A 9-0 win over Brora saw Buckie Ladies football team celebrate their league title win in style.

The club was presented with the Highlands and Islands League trophy after Sunday’s match played at Victoria Park.

Hat tricks by Lori Lappin and Catie Carter, two for under-16 player Courtney Grant and an Alena Gardiner goal made up the scoring.

Manager Mel Smith, who was in charge of the team for the last time said: “One proud day for the club, one proud manager. I am so proud of each and every player.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better squad, or ask for more.”

Buckie completed a league and cup double after also clinching the League Cup this season, the first two trophies in the club’s history.
