The Huntly teenager took part in the Scottish National Open Championships and smashed the 50 metre freestyle record for her category with her victory in 40.98 seconds.

Tegan, a former pupil at the Gordon Schools who is now a University of Aberdeen Performance swimmer, has enjoyed a fine year in the pool.

A member of Huntly Amateur Swimming Club, she achieved a personal best in a World Series event in Aberdeen in February when she was placed fourth in the 50m freestyle heats.

She also finished sixth in the final, while in the 100m freestyle she picked up another PB to finish fourth and just missed out on the final.

Tegan has pseudoachondroplasia, which affects her limbs and joints, and was classified as a para swimmer in 2016.

She trains in Huntly as well as with the University of Aberdeen Performance squad and with the Scottish Para team in Stirling.
