Garioch's Carla Banks has been called up for the Scottish team for British Isles Championship which takes place in Essex from March 8 -10 writes Mike Barron having been unavailable last year.

At the end she will have 12 full caps to add to her 33 junior internationals.

Carla will be playing 2nd to Lorna Cameron of Glasgow, one of the most experienced and skill full skips who was first capped in 2009, and has collected 39 caps.

Yet again there are few north players selected.

Ailsa Robertson of Elgin is one of four from 24 in the team. Kim Watt of Stonehaven has her club player Catherine McIntosh as her skip.

Catherine was at Garioch recently where she was beaten in the Senior singles 21-19 by Garioch’s Joan Western.

Carla is only one of two from Garioch who have been in the Scottish team with Ann Bissett capped in 1995 and 1996.
