THE trip to Nairn was to provide a stunning showcase for Buckie Ladies’ newest signing to display her goalscoring prowess.

It was clear why the Gordon Park side regard the signing of Jess Moore from Elgin City as something of a coup when the forward slammed in four goals in a 5-1 demolition of the hosts as Buckie returned to league duty.

Moore opened her account for Buckie with around 10 minutes on the clock, netting from a Gemma Geddes corner.

She struck again for her brace before Nairn pulled one back.

It only served to galvanise Buckie, who enjoyed a period of pressure before a Michaela Munro pass gave Moore the opening to claim her hat-trick.

After the restart it was more of the same with Buckie in the ascendancy. Moore added her fourth after linking up with fellow prolific striker Lori Lappin, the latter going on to add the visitors’ fifth and final goal.

Buckie Ladies manager Laura Duncan said: “I’m really delighted with the win, it was a super result.

“To be honest, I think that’s the best we’ve played all season.

“It was fantastic to see Jess get her first goals for Buckie, she’s going to be a great signing for us.”

Next up for Buckie Ladies is a league against Clach, with Duncan adding that the display against Nairn meant she was going into the game in a “very confident” frame of mind.

The match is due to kick off at 2pm at Gordon Park - follow Buckie Ladies Facebook page for updates.
